About The Feral Folk

  • Our trips are designed for a range of experience levels, from people who have never been overnight hiking before to more experienced hikers looking for a fun weekend adventure. Each trip will have its own difficulty rating and requirements.

  • Nope! Our trips are designed to help people get started, and we'll provide all the information you need before your hike. Just make sure you check the experience and fitness requirements for your chosen trip.

  • Absolutely not. In fact, we encourage you to come solo! A big part of Feral is creating a social environment where you can meet new people and hopefully leave with a few new hiking besties.

  • Nope! Everyone is welcome at Feral, regardless of gender. Our community is for anyone who wants to get outside, meet good people and embrace their wild side.

  • Feral is primarily geared towards adults aged 18+, with most of our community likely to be in their 20s–40s. That said, we welcome anyone 18+ who enjoys getting outdoors, meeting new people and trying something a little outside their comfort zone. Our hikes are open to all genders and experience levels, with each trip having its own fitness and difficulty requirements.

The Hikes

  • We run guided overnight adventures across some of Australia's most beautiful national parks and wilderness areas. New trips and destinations will be added as Feral grows.

  • Each trip has its own difficulty rating, distance and elevation profile. You'll find the key details on each individual trip page so you can choose an adventure that's right for you.

    You don't need to be an elite athlete, but overnight hiking is physically demanding. You should be comfortable walking for several hours while carrying a backpack. Check the fitness requirements for your specific trip and make sure you're prepared for the distance, terrain and elevation.

  • We keep groups relatively small so the experience stays social, personal and manageable on the trail. The maximum group size will vary depending on the trip.

  • Safety comes first. If weather conditions or other circumstances make a trip unsafe, the itinerary may be changed, postponed or cancelled. We'll communicate any changes as early as possible.

  • We hike as a group and won't leave you behind. Our guides will manage the pace and make decisions based on the group's ability and the conditions on the day.

Gear Access Program

  • No! That's one of the reasons Feral exists. We offer an All-Inclusive Gear option on selected trips, giving you access to essential equipment without needing to purchase everything upfront.

  • Some tents in our All-Inclusive option are twin-share. Sharing a tent means carrying a little less, and it's also a pretty good way to make a new hiking bestie.
